Care Instructions

Rattan is a flexible, vine-like material often used in curved furniture frames and decorative elements. Its lightweight strength makes it a favorite in furniture design—but it needs a little moisture balance to stay in top shape.

For Light Cleaning -

  • Wipe gently with a slightly damp microfiber cloth.
  • Avoid over-wetting—rattan absorbs moisture easily and may swell or crack.

For Deeper Cleaning -

  • Use a bowl of warm water mixed with mild dish soap.
  • Dip a soft cloth into the solution, wring it out well, and wipe the rattan surface.
  • Use a soft toothbrush to clean detailed weave or crevices.
  • Dry immediately with a towel. Never air dry wet rattan indoors—it may warp.

Over time, rattan can become brittle and dry, especially in air-conditioned rooms or dry climates.

Steps to Restore Moisture of Dry Rattan -

Step 1: Mix a diluted solution of Murphy’s Oil Soap with water.

Step 2: Lightly spritz the back side of the rattan only—avoid soaking.

Step 3: Wipe with a clean cloth and allow to fully air dry before use.

If mold or mildew appears due to humidity you can follow the steps below

Steps for Stain & Mildew Removal -

Step 1: Mix 1 part bleach to 4 parts water.

Step 2: Lightly scrub the affected areas using a soft cloth or sponge.

Step 3: Rinse with a clean damp cloth and dry outdoors in shade.

Threshold Delivery:

Delivered to first door or dry area. Signature required.  Carrier will contact for an appointment time. Select White Glove if wanting to upgrade to inside delivery/set up for additional charge. 

White Glove Delivery:

Item will be delivered and carried to a room of choice, assembled (if needed), and all packaging removed.  Signature required.  Carrier will contact for an appointment time.
