Description

The traditional base and simple shape of our Cyril table make it the ideal centerpiece for outdoor gatherings. Its pedestal stand gives it such an airy feel, you might want another one for inside as well! Concrete material naturally distresses. Minor cracks and imperfections are to be expected.

Reconstituted stone is a composite material made from—but not limited to—crushed natural stone mixed with resin, cement, or polymer to create a durable material that’s used for some of our most well-loved designs. Keep in mind that small chips, cracks, and changes in color are expected over time and inherent to the charm of this material. In fact, it’s part of why we love designing with reconstituted stone; each piece evolves with us.

A GUIDE TO CARE FOR
Reconstituted Stone &
Reinforced Concrete
MAINTAINING YOUR FURNITURE
Our fiber reinforced concrete and reconstituted
stone is a porous material (much like natural wood or
stone). Because of its porous nature, regular waxing is
recommended to help protect the surface. We recommend
reapplying wax to high-traffic pieces, such as stools and
dining tables, every 2–3 months, while lower-traffic items,
like consoles, may only require reapplication every 6–12
months and re-sealing every two years. Applying Made
Goods furniture wax, with a beeswax base, prior to install
is highly recommended, or within 30-days. Caution: Do
not place objects on the surface for 12 hours after applying
the wax. If used outdoors, apply a generous coat of wax
beforehand. When not in use, cover the piece and elevate
it off the ground whenever feasible. If the piece cannot
be elevated, ensure it is positioned where water can drain
freely and does not remain in standing water. Before
exposing pieces to freezing temperatures, ensure they are
completely dry and covered.
TO BE EXPECTED
The wear of your product contributes to its uniqueness.
Reconstituted stones and reinforced concretes are
intended to develop a patina and improve with time.
Cracks and variation in color are normal. Non-structural
hairline cracks are possible and may result from shrinkage
and the natural curing process. If minor cracks appear,
immediately apply a thick coat of wax and rub in well to
prevent moisture from seeping into cracks and causing
discoloration and separation.
SPOT CLEANING
Spills, especially oils, should be wiped up as soon as
possible with mild soap (dish soap) and water to minimize
staining. Do not use abrasives, bleach-based, ammoniabased, citrus-based, or natural cleaners, which can wear
down wax protection. If wax coating is scratched or
damaged, apply a new coat of wax.
KEEP IN MIND...
While wax and sealant will perform well against most
stains, prolonged exposure to oils and acidic materials
may result in penetration and possible discoloration. Do
not place hot objects directly on the surface. Use trivets,
coasters, felt pads, or rubber pads if placing objects
onto the surface. Do not use painter’s tape or other
adhesives on your piece. Regular wax application builds a
protective layer over the sealant, enhancing the durability,
functionality, and appearance of your furniture while
providing a subtle sheen. If water no longer beads on
the surface or if spills leave dark spots that penetrate the
material, it is time to reapply the wax.
