Nocturne Crane Framed Silk Panel

The Nocturne Crane Framed Silk Panel is hand-painted chinoiserie on a midnight-blue silk ground, with a pair of red-crowned cranes standing beneath a twisting flowering tree. Peonies in pink, coral, and lavender gather near the base, while blossoming branches, perched songbirds, and a single butterfly carry the composition upward. The dark backdrop brings out the brushwork, from the scalloped strokes of the crane feathers to the dry-brushed bark, with the weave of the silk showing through.

A Champagne Gold-finished metal frame traces a fine line of light around the blue silk. At just over five feet tall, the panel is a statement piece on an open wall in a dining room, entry, or hallway.
